If you are interested in participating in the EJS ACT-PD trial, you will need to first complete the Registration of Interest.
Visit our Registration of Interest Page for more information and to find the link to the Registration Form.
Given the scale and uniqueness of the EJS ACT-PD dataset, we are excited to collaborate with external partners on a range of different opportunities. Such collaborations could include:
To submit a request for potential collaboration you can complete a brief online form found here.
The form will ask for contact details, a brief summary of the collaboration plan / goals, and funding requirements. Following review of the form, you may then be asked to present your collaboration proposal to our Trial Innovation Working Group and PPIE members who will help us to determine whether it is feasible / appropriate to take forwards.
Please do reach out with your ideas - we look forward to enabling research that strengthens and accelerates progress across the broader Parkinson’s field.
Treatment suggestions
We are actively considering new potential treatment compounds for future arms, from both repurposed and commercial drugs. We welcome submission of new potential treatments to be reviewed by our Treatment Selection Working Group.
We are currently interested in phase 2b/3-ready compounds with a disease-modifying potential in PD. Compounds with no data in humans, disease-modifying drug combinations and non-pharmacological approaches are excluded for now.
If you are interested in submitting your compound(s) for consideration you can complete our Expression of Interest (EoI) from Candidates will be subject to an evaluation process (González-Robles et al., 2025). If successful, the EJS ACT-PD team will work with entities to open trial arms with selected candidates.
The consideration of drug candidates is a three-stage process:
Early Career Researcher (ECR) programme and Fellowships
The EJS ACT-PD project provides a unique learning experience for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in the design and management of complex clinical trials. ECRs are assigned to Working Groups based on their interests and expertise but have the option to join other group meetings as observers to develop their overall understanding of the project. Opportunities to input include assisting with review and selection processes (e.g., for treatments, outcome measures, samples etc.), presenting in PPIE forums, and contributing to outputs. EJS ACT-PD is embedded within a network of other MAMS platforms for neurodegenerative diseases via the MRC CTU’s ACORD initiative. To enable our ECRs to benefit from this network, they are all invited to join , an academic collaboration of statisticians and clinicians working on these clinical trials. This opportunity will supporting their professional development, training and foster wider collaboration within the UK MAMS community.
You can apply to join us as an ECR .
We are keen to support the development of our future clinical and academic leaders, and are proud to have contributed to several Early Career Researcher (ECR) fellowships focused on advancing Parkinson’s research and care. This includes providing data access which will enable a Research fellow to work on an AI-enabled multimodal evidence synthesis to guide research decisions across neurodegenerative diseases, as well as supporting the development of innovative statistical methods for digital clinical trial endpoints. ECR Fellowship support requests can follow the same collaboration request process outline above.
Global Alliance for Parkinson’s Platforms (GAPP)
The Global Alliance for Parkinson’s Platforms (GAPP) is a new international collaboration that brings together leaders of Parkinson’s platform trials from around the world to strengthen coordination, share resources, harmonise data standards, and accelerate the evaluation of potential disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson’s disease. GAPP aims to ensure these efforts work together rather than in isolation to reduce duplication and speed progress. EJS ACT-PD is an active member of GAPP and we are pleased to be able to contribute to this global effort to share our methods, learning, and outcomes to support global improvement of Parkinson’s research.
